Anna Sarukhanova was born in Tbilisi, Georgia in 1988. She graduated from the Faculty of Journalism at Moscow State University and continued her education at the Directors' Faculty of the Postgraduate School of Screenwriters and Film Directors (V. Khotinenko, V. Fenchenko and P. Finn workshop). In 2016 her short film "Till the End of the Day" was in official selection of Locarno Film Festival, (Pardi di Domani section). In 2018 Anna took part in Berlinale Talents.
