Biography
Born in Boston and the oldest of two siblings, Sam Ball moved to the northwest suburbs of Chicago with his family in his early years, where he would go on to be a three-sport athlete in high school (football, swimming, water polo) and a two-sport athlete in college (football, track and field). In addition to his athletic background, Sam has a lifelong passion for performing and found his way to the stage while at St. Norbert College where he was cast as Adam in the Neil LaBute play "The Shape of Things". From there, he was hooked. After college, Sam found success in stand-up comedy and film acting while in Chicago before ultimately moving to LA where he transitioned into television and live show production. This gave Sam a unique perspective on the storytelling process, something that he brings into every role he plays. It was during the pandemic, however, when Sam found his motivation to return to what he truly loved: acting. In late 2022, Sam broke through to wider recognition when he was cast in the recurring role of Mick Foley/Mankind on one of NBC's biggest comedy hits in years, "Young Rock."
