Biography
Washington Alexis Viera Barreto (Montevideo, 1978) is a Colombian-Uruguayan former soccer player. He won the Uruguayan Championship playing for the two big clubs in the country: Nacional and Peñarol. He was forced to retire after he was shot in the spine by a robber in Colombia. He is the subject and an executive producer of the documentary film Alexis Viera: A Story of Surviving (2019).
