Despite a very loose interpretation of the famous novels by Karl May, the core of the new three part TV movie concerning the Apache Chief Winnetou (Nik Xhililaj), son of the High Chief Intschu Tschuna (Gojko Mitić) remains true to the spirit of the works. The first part is all about how Winnetou and Old Shatterhand, the German engineer working as a land surveyor for the railway in the American West (Wotan Wilke Möring) meet, their friendship and how they become blood brothers. The second part sees the duo set out to find the Treasure in the Silver Lake. The final part tells the tragic tale of Winnetou's death.
