Biography
Seán Leahy is a neurodiverse Irish filmmaker. He is currently studying for his Batchelor degree at University College Cork, with him having selected Film and Screen Media for his major and English for his minor. Seán has worked as a writer, director, cinematographer and editor on a plethora of films. With his most recent film "An Unnerving Realisation" having premiered as part of the UCC Film and Screen Media BA Showcase at the 2023 Fastnet Film Festival. Seán is also committee member for a multitude of indigenous Irish film clubs and societies. Notable among these is The Peoples Picturehouse Cork, a monthly film club which aims to promote films produced by local talent in Cork City. Alongside that, he's also a part of the UCC Film and Photography Society, which orchestrates film screenings every two weeks alongside curating special events like industry workshops and photography day trips.
In addition to this Seán is also the founder of Visuals: Cork’s Silent Film Club, with it being a small yet vibrant film club that is dedicated to promoting the cultural and historical value of silent-era films within the Cork Community.
